Google Webmaster tools also called as search console is a tool offered  by google which helps to display your website in google search result.Webmaster tools  helps us to know about the performance of our blog. It provides a detailed report and data on  your blogs search traffic, crawl status, index results and much more. By using webmaster tools in your  blogs make it more search friendly. It is used to verify our site in server and to  make our listed in the search result.

Steps to add Google Webmaster Tools to our Blog.

1.  Login to your Google account.
2.  Go to  google.com/webmasters/tools. We will be redirected to the search console home page.
3.  First we have to add our blog to search console.
     For this click on -> ADD A PROPERTY.
     Then paste your blog URL there. Click on ->ADD.

4.  Next is the Verifying process.
     Select the HTML tag option. Copy the meta tag there. Go to blogger.    
    Click on ->Template .Then paste the meta tag there in the Head section.
    Click on -> Save Template.
    Go to search console page Click on -> VERIFY and will be verified.
5.  Next is fetching of your post.
     For this Go to home page of your search console Click on the post.
     Click on the ->CRAWL option. followed by  -> FETCH AS GOOGLE.
     Then paste the URL address of your blog post there and click on ->FETCH.
     Select option --> Crawl only this URL.or -> Crawl this URL and its direct links.
     The verifying process will start and on completion a completion sign will be displayed.

6.  Go to Blog Post. Copy the URL,  paste it in google.com, and your post will be displayed.

On Page SEO  is the practice of optimizing web pages in order to gain higher ranking. It makes the page relevant in the search traffic.On page SEO refers to both the content and the HTML source code of the page that can be optimized.Off Page SEO on the other refers to  external links.


ON PAGE FACTORS

 On Page Factors are aspects of agiven web page that influence search engine ranking.These include
      * Title tag
      *Content of the Page
      *Meta tag description
      *URL of the site
For acquiring a higher ranking in the search result, we  focus on these on page factors and we optimize these factors.

 Optimizations in On Page SEO

1. Title Optimization

 The page title will be displayed on the title bar of the browser window. It define the
title of a document.Title tags are also displayed on the search engine result pages  with snippets of the
given page. So title is very important in the case of seo. Following are certain criterias that  should be followed in
giving a title.
          * The title should be unique
          * The Focusing keyword should be in the SEO title preferably at the beginning.
          * There should not be any spelling or grammar mistakes.
          * There should be a minimum of 30 characters and maximum of 55 characters.
          * Only one H1 tag should be there, H2 not more than 2, H3 not more than 3.
          *If company name is there it should be at the end of the title.

2.  Anchor text optimization

Anchor texts should be there in your page .It helps readers to link the content of the page with other pages. When giving links to sites with lesser domain authority and page authority,  rel= "no follow" attribute should be used to pass the link juice. Anchor text can at as a fuel for reading and crawling. Hyperlinks are more visible to users.Focusing keyword should not be an anchor text.

3. Content optimization

 Content is the important element of a webpage. A webpage should provide a content which is
linkable and supplies the demand. Content  makes webpages worthy of the search result
position. Some strategy used in content optimization are
  *H1 is the major identity mark and there should be only one H1.
  *Sub Heading containing focusing  keyword should be good.
  *Focusing keyword should be in content at first part.
  *Making a word bold will help users to read content without omission.            
  *Keywords can be used in contents in splitted form.
  *Content should describe the heading.
  *Focusing keyword before full stop or comma helps increasing page ranking.
  * Focusing keyword in grey color also helps to increase visibility.

 4. Image Optimization

 Google identifies an image using its ALT tag,  its file name and relation with content
 ALT text :-   ALT text is the alternate text. It describes the image nature. ALT  tag should be set for all images as  google first checks alt tag to identify an image.To set ALT Text  go to properties and give a alt text there.
 Image File Name:- After ALT tag google  takes the image file name as a identifying element.
After these google takes the relation of the image with its related content as the next identifying element.Also the image should be of legible size.

  Authorship should be set for each post. Authorship makes page more acceptable. As more contributors are participating in a post its credibility and editorial power increases. It makes page more powerful.

6.Meat tag Description

Meta description tag in HTML is 160 character snippet used to summarize the web  pages content.
search engines some times uses these snippets in search results to let visitors know what a page is about before they click on it.

        SEO  is simply the process of optimizing websites or webpages for making   them search engine friendly.  Search engines work by the processes of  Crawling, Catching and Indexing. Crawling is the process of fetching data prom webpages and by Indexing the scanned data is categorized and is stored into  giant databases from where we can fetch it later on by the process of Indexing.

  In SEO there are mainly two optimization techniques. On page SEO and Off page SEO.On page SEO includes providing good content, good keywords,selection, putting headings on correct pages etc. Off page  SEO includes link building increasing link popularity by submitting  open directories link exchange etc.
                              
 At initial time Google was Niche Specific for search results. It worked on content specific manner.It placed the search result on the basis of the number of times a particular keyword is present in page. The webpage with more times the searched keyword will be at top search result.
Only white hat SEO practices are recommended as apart of good design.Black Hat SEO Practices are
techniques that search engines do not approve and attempt to minimize the effort.

                      By 2010 people started spending more time on social medias.Then google decided to take social media as a strategy for ranking method.As social media promotion increased the page ranking all started using this and as a result its ranking lost.So a social media authority was introduced . It deals with content spamming.Panda update was applied on webpages containing content duplication, low quality contents,spelling and grammar mistakes, content spinning, tinny pages, etc.Panda update was introduced to ensure the quality of search result and google made it a permanent filter in their main algorithm.

           3. Penguin Update

 It was introduced in 2012 and it was related to link spamming.Link spamming includes link building from low quality websites link building from directories,link selling or buying, lin exchange, comment spamming, sneaky links, wiki spamming,
guest blogging etc.

          4.Pigeon Update

            Pigeon Update is related to Local SEO that is the listing of websites based on a local area.  For this we should have a google verified  address and  our location should be geo tagged.

          5. EMD Update

                       Exact Match Domain update is related to mixing the focusing keyword with the  domain address of the website.

  Humming Bird update is related to semantic search result. The most accepted or interacted pages will be given as the result.The defect is that if wrong answer is accepted by most users google will also list it as the search result.

               This one is a modification of Humming Bird Update .In it search engine itself act as a human being  using artificial intelligence. Search nature of different users differs so search engine achieves the intelligence to understand the search criteria.

        Conclusion

                     Google updates are introduced to maintain the quality of the search results and to avoid low quality webpages from the search results.Each updates they introduced filtered many low quality websites through their powerful algorithms.These algorithms are also integrated into googles main algorithm as permanent filters.
